INVOLVED PARTIES
INCIDENT REPORT
- The coterie awake at dusk within Josi's haven at the Center for Thanatology Research and Education. Catalina is with them, while Jasib is staked in a drawer in the morgue.
- Josi sees that the pager Anatoli gave her has a cached message. It reads: "CALL SHERIFF" with an accompanying number.
- Josi provides the coterie with bagged blood from the lab, as well as takes some to Pius. After introductions, Pius is brought up to speed on the situation with the Lasombra, as well as Anatoli's presence within the court.
- Pius asks Josi — and by extension, the coterie — to follow up on a matter of his when they have time. A local museum's "Love Through the Ages" exhibit apparently includes a series of romantic letters Pius had written in his "youth", including one that he had penned but never sent. The correspondence was between himself and Portia — then known as Helena of Argos — and could be quite embarrassing for her should anyone make the connection.
- Kalliste calls Sheriff Conway, who informs them that the Prince announced a blood hunt for Jasib after his actions at the Gargoyle Room. The Sheriff seems relieved that the coterie have him, but stresses that they are under no circumstances to speak with Jasib. Kalliste can tell that he is hiding something. They are ordered to bring him to the Ramble in Central Park at 2:00 am for the final Primogen vote.
- Aradia speaks with Catalina, trying to narrow down exactly how the boon she will owe could be repaid. Catalina absolutely refuses to teach her the ways of Oblivion, thinking it to be a soul-corrupting curse. She does, however, stand by her offer of havens for the coterie in her family's hotel, The Onyx.
- Josi checks in on her pet mouse, Algernon. He was originally a gift from Alter, following a previously gifted copy of Flowers for Algernon. Both were a not-so-subtle nudge from Alter, reminding Josi to keep the ethics of her experiments in mind — whether medical or magical. Regardless, Josi prepares Algernon to undergo a terrifying ceremony! After coating her ancient athame in a vile concoction of urine, feces and semen, she plunges it into poor, sweet Algernon's chest, killing him immediately. Then, after massaging some of her own vitae into the wound, wills the forces of Oblivion to restore some semblance of unlife to the mouse. Pius claps once out of proud excitement, as Josi shows Algernon to her pocket.
- After much debate, the coterie carefully ties up Jasib, injects him with a powerful tranquilizer, and removes the stake. It's not much of an interrogation as Jasib is unrepentant — though forthright — in regards to his depravity. He doesn't want to meet the final death however. He is willing to sellout the "treacherous" Amici Noctis, aid the Anarchs in utterly destroying the Camarilla, and even leverage his powers of Oblivion to teach the coterie what Abyss Mysticism he knows. The parlay is ended when Leah — upset over the slaughtered women at the Cherry Pit — plunges the stake back into Jasib's chest.
- Leah calls the business line for her haven, The Mosh Pit, to see if Rudi or Sage have left any contact information. Unfortunately, they had not. Though the bartender does inform Leah that there's a man at the Mosh Pit asking about Josi. He calls himself Chad.
- Kalliste calls Baron Bruck and updates him on the situation. Bruck agrees to send some backup to meet the coterie at Central Park in case things go sidways.
- Kalliste then calls the front desk of the Gilded Lion, asking if Anne had been around. Though she isn't currently at the hotel, the front desk clerk did see her go out for the evening only a few hours earlier.
- Kalliste speaks with Catalina, trying to suss out her opinions on brothel ownership and operation, potentially in regards to keeping the Gilded Lion afloat. Catalina plays coy about her knowledge of such things, and is overall uninterested in the proposition. She does, however, know about the hospitality industry, and promises to put Kalliste in contact with a real estate lawyer who can perhaps help to designate the Gilded Lion as a non-profit housing shelter.
- Aradia calls Camilla's penthouse, still worried by the continuing radio silence from her sire. Thankfully, Camilla answers, explaining that she had been in Staten Island and didn't know how to get a hold of Aradia. Apparently, Camilla had been searching for information on the area's Thin-Blooded population, investigating rumors that they had developed some sort of mock blood sorcery specific to their kind. She spoke with a few of the Thin-Bloods who had graduated from Nicodemus' Academy Eternal, but each proved to be false leads. She is, however, pretty sure that something is hunting the Thin-Bloods in the area. She had feared that whatever it was had also caught wind of her prying, forcing her to lay low for the past few nights.
- Aradia tells Camilla about her meeting with the Tremere Regents of the Chantry of the Five Boroughs. Specifically her invitation to Lord Wainwright's chantry, though also to Aisling's chantry. Camilla has reservations about entering any of the chantries, having previously escaped from one herself. She does however know of Aisling by reputation, and seems receptive to the idea of eventually meeting with her, so long as proper precautions are taken.
- Camilla agrees to join the coterie to further discuss the situation with the Lasombra. It'll take her about an hour, but she'll meet them at Forest Park, which neighbors the sprawling cemeteries of the Center for Thanatology.
