Hypogea

Almost every New Yorker uses the subway system. While many are aware that there are secrets there of some sort, few grasp the enormity of the system of tunnels, cisterns, and aqueducts that make up this cyclopean complex. Kindred call this subterranean land Hypogea — a Greek word suggesting underground chambers, caves, temples, and tombs. It is a home for the homeless, a refuge for animals, a haven for Kindred... and possibly other creatures best avoided.


The Nosferatu claim domain of all of New York City's underground, and as such, are the de facto masters of Hypogea. Few outside of the clan are permitted hunting rights within the busy subway stations of the city, and fewer less in the water processing plants and abandoned art deco antechambers of yesteryear. The Nosferatu are however more than happy to cultivate herds of rats — and homeless persons — for easy feeding throughout Hypogea. So-called "spawning pools" within the deeper complex are even said to house ghouled alligators.


Those of Clan Nosferatu are protective of their home, and largely unwilling to share their privacy. To this end, intruders may find a variety of deadly boobytraps through labyrinthine tunnels, many of which lead to intentional dead-ends and kill boxes. Though rumors within the clan hint at a grander reasoning — a shared fear of something more monstrous than the Nosferatu themselves...
