The Gargoyle Room is a community art space in SoHo, known largely throughout the underground music scene for its moody goth rock acts. It sits behind the elegant facade of a long-forgotten theater, with most of the interior having been previously gutted to use as manufacturing lofts. The decor as it exists now harks back to the theatrical origins of the site. A marble fountain adorns the dance floor, log fireplaces illuminate cozy corner seating, wooden gargoyles suspend as lanterns above. The walls are covered in a mosaic of imperfectly cut glass tiles, which perfectly complement the main club room's elaborate coffered ceiling with gold leaf insets.
